StoryCorps – A moving animated tribute

StoryCorps is a fascinating project, running since 2003, and creating an archive of ordinary people talking about their life experiences. One thing flicking through the archive reminds the listener about is the uniqueness of each¬†individual’s life and, occasionally, it can reveal stories that not only would be otherwise lost to history but also are incredibly moving.

Here is a short animated film from the Rauch Brothers which illustrates such a piece. In it, 86 year old Battle of Bulge veteran Joseph Robertson recalls a moment in his life which has haunted him ever since.
