When Cities Go Mad

I love the eccentricity behind the decision to close Sydney Harbour Bridge in order to cover the bridge in real, lush grass and allow 6,000 to have a breakfast picnic this morning.

Sadly, I was too late to get tickets but was woken by news helicopters hovering around filming it from 6am. I know Paris ships in sand in order to create a beach along the Seine every summer, but I reckon this beats it hands down.

Does any other city trump this for bizarre free public entertainment?
